Extreme Discovery Trail at Masungi Georeserve Rizal, Philippines

Masungi Georeserve is situated in the upland area of Baras, Rizal Philippines. The name was derived from the word "masungki" meaning jagged or craggy because of is sprawling limestone landscape. Its considered as a privately-led conservation area and a rustic rock garden tucked of Rizal rainforest.

Its lush forest is a national heritage with its sixty million-year-old limestone formations and is being protected by several conservation and geotourism organizations. The georeserve have been continuously safeguarded for over fifteen years or more. It was a challenge to cope and stop illegal loggers, quarries, and others to preserve its beauty and rich diversity.

Masungi Georeserve - Tatay (Tallest Peaks)
Climb the two tallest peaks in the Ecopark that gives you an aerial scenic view of the conservation area. These two peaks are called "TATAY and NANAY" (Father and Mother).

Sapot, a mimicry of a spider web that hangs above one of Masungi's rock formation that is made up of a metallic platform with wooden steps. It let you witness the scenic views of the country's longest mountain the Sierra Madre and country's largest lake Laguna de Bay.

Yungib ni Ruben is a cave with scented candles around it to give fragrance from its moist inside. It was named by its namesake which is one of the eco-park creative staff.

Enjoy the extreme 3 to 4 hours uphill climbing with there discovery trail that will put you to awe. The vast scenic view will truly capture your heart and soul. 
Giant Rope Hammack aka Duyan
Experience the thrilling uphill climbing and giant rope hammock called DUYAN that span a few hundred feet which is one of the most photographed courses in the ecopark.

Most importantly, be part of nature and get disconnected from the busy life in the city. It's time for a break!

They offer a quick day tour or day trip from Manila. Make sure you have taken your meal before going on a trail since its exhausting and extreme adventure and food supplies is not allowed inside. However, a light snack before exiting the trail is provided.

The Geopark discovery trail opened last December 2015. If you are interested to visit this beautiful sanctuary. A reservation should be sent a week in advance to four days prior to the intended date of visit at the very least since walk-ins are not accommodated.
