Fil-Australian Wins X-Factor Australia 2014

Another Filipina won X-Factor last night, following Rose Fostanes who just won X-Factor Israel this year. The 15-year-old Marlisa Punzalan, Filipina-Australian, has just nailed it in the X-factor Australia besting out 2 other contenders, Dean Ray and Brothers3. Her win made her the youngest winner of the said competition in Australia and the 2nd to win under the mentoring of the ex-Boyzone member, Ronan Keating. 

It was a surprisingly amazing win for Marlisa as she was considered an underdog to other finalists. Yes, it was really incredible. Even the host of the show, Luke Jacobz said it has been the tightest result in X Factor's history having 0.01% difference in the total public votes. 

In the finals, Marlisa sang her favorite song, "Yesterday" by the Beatles, "Never Be The Same" which she performed with Jessica Mauboy and her first ever single, "Stand By You."
