The Dreamers 2013 Review
The Dreamers via

This is an adult movie for it contains nudity and explicit sexual activity that is not appropriate for young viewers with the age below eighteen (18). Parental guidance is needed as it shows adult scenes that would not be appropriate for youth.

If you will be based on the title of the movie you will think that it was an inspirational movie, but your eyes and instinct deceit you for the movie was all about an incest French twin “Isabelle and Theo” who have been playing around with fire. They have pushed the limits and do crazy sexual play, which was the “truth or dare”. They play by acting/dreaming roles in the movies they have watched and they need to guess the title of the movie and when they failed to guess, they need to do whatever the dare or consequences.

Their parent doesn’t know what they are doing with each other. Mathew an American guy who used to be touring the country met them. Isabelle and Theo were the first friends and people whom he met in France that is why he gets along with them often. He did not expect what life the twin had been doing. He fell in love with Isabelle and you will never expect what will happen next for it was quite odd.
I have noticed too that the movie has several themes; love, war (Student’s Riot), culture and family ties. But love reigns more than the others.

My Rating

Since this movie is quite old, but it was an eye-opening of what culture/history France have before; the revolt of the people as they resist their government-- I would give this movie 3.5 stars. I will not recommend this movie to minors, but for adults who want to be enlightened and are curious about what image France has, you might consider watching this.
