The Gorgeous Island of Coron, Palawan Philippines

Coron, Palawan is a 1st class municipality in the province of Palawan that comprises half of eastern Busuanga island, Coron island, and 50 minor islets extending to Tara island in the north-east part and Canipo island in southern territory. These islands incorporate the Calamian Archipelago in Northern Palawan that set apart the South China Sea from the Sulu Sea.

And this will be our next destination in our goals to travel around the Philippines and witness the beauty and treasures of the Pearl of the Orient - a hidden gem in Southeast Asia.

Coron, Palawan with Friends
So since we are in Manila we have decided to travel via Cebu Pacific Air to get to the gorgeous island of Coron, Palawan. The travel time is approximately an hour to reach it but if you have ample time and love to travel via water and see the majestic scenic view of the pathway you can ride on a 2GO Travel via Ferry which has a trip from Manila to Coron every Tuesday and Friday at 1:30 PM.

This travel is also DIY (Do it Yourself) since my friend who is also a traveler told us it's cheaper than getting a local agency to set the tour. And I couldn't agree more since my Auntie in America visited the place too but booked the travel and tour with an agency and spent more. And the good thing about this is you can choose where to go and have no time limits.

When we arrived at our destination, there is actually plenty of Travel and Tour Agencies that offer tour packages. So if you are planning to visit in Coron, Palawan just book a flight and buy a tour package with the locals there, its cheaper than getting one in Manila or online.

However, for cheap/affordable booking for accommodation, it best to look online like Airbnb to find cheaper deals to stay. In our case,  we stayed at Happy Campers Hostel which is very affordable. They have clean amenities and friendly people.

Here are some of the top picks tourist spot in Coron, Palawan that I enjoyed the most with my friends:

Kayangan Freshwater Lake
Kayangan Freshwater Lake
#1 The first on the list will be the very famous Kayangan Lake which is dubbed as one of the cleanest freshwater lakes in the Philippines.

Malcapuya Island
Malcapuya Island
#2 If you love snorkeling, I will highly suggest Malcapuya Island. The snorkeling fee is only 100 pesos where a boat will drag you slowly to the best spot for snorkeling. This is actually my favorite because I was able to go near a giant clam and beautiful school of fish.

Twin Lagoons

#3 You'll also get fascinated by the mystique beauty of Twin Lagoons. The first lagoon is where the boat dock and the second lagoon is hidden and can only be accessed with a small crevice underneath rocks or during high tide and a ladder which you can climb over the rock.

Barracuda Lake
Barracuda Lake
#4 Barracuda Lake is also impressive with its rock formation and deep blue color water. In our tour, we stayed here for lunch by the boat and it was an awesome experience especially the local cuisine is scrumptious!

Banana island
Banana Island
#5 Banana island is also beautiful. You can have a relaxing siesta in the afternoon on the island because of its because of the scenic view.

Other places that you can also visit in Coron, Palawan are Siete Pecados, Mt. Tapyas, Banul Beach, Lusong Coral Garden and many more.

So if you are a type of person who loves white sand beaches and tropical weather, this is the best place to visit. With their scrumptious local cuisine that includes plates of seafood, fresh vegetables and more you'll surely won't forget the place.

I would revisit this place again some other time since we haven't toured the municipality of Coron completely because of the limited time. But overall, it was a marvelous beach experience with my friends!

A photo was taken by an American Girl
While going home from a long exhausting fun tour, we were all worn out and an American woman took a picture of us sleeping. She told us that we were so ecstatic during the tour and when the sun sets, we are totally tired.

Anyways, thank you for reading. Till our next travel, see yah!
